Still it didn't grow all that popular but it's player base grew a little. This mod had completely remade models for players, weapons, enemies and maps.
In 2006 the mod was released again as Killing Floor 2.0. The mod had it's own small community players. The first version of the mod had a singleplayer story mode, but that wasn't all that popular and people preferred the multiplayer mode. The mod wasn't all that popular at first. Killing Floor started off as a Unreal Tournament 2004 mod released in 2005. Killing Floor is finally becoming a game of it's own!:
